iPhone 6 Cases & Accessories

Do any of these cases have a lip around the screen to prevent the screen taking the brunt of the impact should it fall screen down on the floor? I've currently got an Incipio Frequency for my iphone 5 which has it. Might be something more difficult to do with the 6's curved screen

The casemate tough mentioned earlier seems to have a lip on the screen

From my point of view I would prefer protection but I don't want my phone to look like a Sherman tank :D

What are people doing for car mounts? Current plan is wait for Brodit to release their iphone 6 mount as I've always had Brodit.

Ever since my 1st mini I have used the brodits they are not cheap but do the job I'm hoping this time they do. A holder with lightening cable included as they are a bit cheaper now

Also its about time they got with the rest of the developers and managed to get a holder ready for release day :)

Same :)

I might try the silicone and leather Apple ones in store and buy one or the other if they are better

yeah like you stated, I will have a look at the apple silicone ones instore 1st,

just not convinced i want it covered up, but will see how slippy it is

my iphone 5 has done me prowd, i have only ever had a back voer that has been on and off depending on wether its been in the car cradle or not,

and have to say aport from a porridge drop!!! it had survived two years of being flung around, and only has a few niks around the sides,

every one on about lack of saphire screens etc, min is still mint as new, not a single scratch and has always been nacked on the front :D

Added links to Piel Frama and Casemate cases.

Casemate appears to be pretty standard fare but Piel Frama has an interesting pouch/sleeve with a pull-out tab and nice design for anyone interested in that type of case. They also have a few flip cases which I've not seen much of so far.

Anyone in the market for an iPhone dock, be sure to check out the weight of the dock as they tend to differ quite a lot between different products (the heavier the better).

I look for minimal hard shell cases. I have dropped my iphone 5 loads of times and its never smashed tge screen or corners. I have a cheap gear4 on it now but it fits very well and makes it easier to hold and also protects it oretty well

The thought of people covering up these gorgeous phones with tacky, bulky cases makes me sad, clearly the correct thing to do here is to buy a Joli Originals sleeve and use the device naked. :p

I never get the point of cases.

The glass on modern iphones is so tough that they don't get scratched any more.

Yes it may have the old mark here or there, but who cares ? much rather use the device for 2 years without any added bulk and not worry about scratches.

Some cases even make the scratching worse as they allow lint etc.. from your pocket into the back of the phone then wedge it between the phone and the case grinding it around. At least in your pocket its free to move around.

Yup, always case free on my phones, I think they look and feel much better without.

£5 Airframe style car adaptor on order to hold me over until Brodit release theirs, thanks for the tips dink & allosunshine.

This is the car mount I use for my iPhone 4S currently:

The arms are expandable and I'm hoping it'll fit the iPhone 6 Plus I have on order. It also has feet for the phone's weight to rest on rather than just relying on the side clamp.

This is the holder: http://www.ultimate-mobiles.co.uk/Holders/Universal_Adjustable_Mounting_Holder

and this is the vent mount: http://www.ultimate-mobiles.co.uk/Attachments/Pro_Professional_Quick_Release_Air_Vent_Attachment_V2

The vent mount has stabilising feet which stops the phone bobbing around and the vent being pointed down too much although the phone blocks most of the vent anyway so I have that vent turned off.

I've always been a firm believer in using cases and screen protectors on my phones. When I got my new job last year I was given an iPhone5 and thought "sod it..it's not my phone; I'll go screen protector-free just to see how strong this glass actually is".

I keep my phone in my jeans pocket all day and guess what..after a week I picked up a nice deep scratch on the screen!

Case-free iPhones are quite tricky to keep hold of..they slip and slide like anything in your hand, making it more likely to be dropped, and a dropped phone without a case is never going to win a fight against a hard surface!

For the sake of an extra bit of extra bulk, I think a case is well worth putting up with.
