Hello,

been looking to get an Handset iphone 6 128 gb from a pc shop (£699) will I be able to put my old iphone 3gs sim in this phone(tesco payg) and just carry on using as normal? Or will I need to use a sim from the pc shop (world) ???? Not used to phones much tbh so thought I'd ask. It says "handset only so is this sim free???

Only had one iphone (3gs) and this would be a HUGE upgrade putting it mildly;)

You need a nano sim.

I was on iPhone 4, when i got the phone I also got a replacement nano sim from the Apple store.

Popped new sim into iPhone 6, went into 3 (my network) across the road, the guy asked for my details, found it in his computer, scanned in the barcode on the packagings on the new sim, and that was done. The network signal on my old phone died and not long after the new phone came alive (after a reboot)

It looked really simple, i didn't even need to take out the old sim !

You simply need a replacement sim and call up your network. It shouldn't long at all.

Ha!

Anyway, I've ordered a free sim from o2 "pay and go sim" £15 per month 4G ready. So will I just pop the sim in and call 4444 ? Also does the phone number come with phone or sim card and could I keep my own number? Heard something about sim swapping, as my old 3gs has a bigger sim, how would I do this (if I have to)?

You need a sim that doesn't have a number. I think a pay and go sim already has a number?

Hmm, I'll ask o2 about that Raymond. My first and only phone I'm using, 3gs was payg tesco mobile, (£545:eek:) and it all came as a package with number etc. Was wondering if these sims when connected to my new iPhone 6 will be similar....

What you need to do is just pop into the store if its close and tell them you need a new sim, they will get a blank sim out and move your details to it. At which point your old sim will stop working (takes 5mins~) and your new sim will be active. I personally just cut mine, but my GF was to worried so we went to the vodafone store (where on vodafone) and they gave us a new one right away.
