I've ordered a 6 Plus but don't expect it to replace my iPad. If I just used an iPad mini then it'd replace that, but not a full size iPad.
Mainly use the iPad for movies/video and it's 10" screen size is absolutely perfect for close up Netflix viewing in bed but the Plus at 5.5" wouldn't really work in that role.
Guess the Plus will replace my iPad for sofa web surfing duty though, but not enough that I'd consider getting shut of the tablet.
That's the thing, I've got a TV in my bedroom for films so I wouldn't watch them on the ipad or phone.
I reckon I'll be spot on for armchair surfing with the 6+, it'll be great from a portability point of view over the mini and ipad.
Possibly but I really doubt it. Unless 5S/C sales remain high, which I don't think they will, Apple would be stupid to offer a smaller phone that will no doubt have lower margins. Look at Android, the smallest phone with decent hardware is 4.5", even the new Z3 Compact has moved up in size, after the Z1 Compact was praised for bringing the latest tech to a 4.3" device. I'm guessing sales weren't as strong as Sony thought they'd be. The mass market is pushing all manufacturers towards 5" as the ideal size.
The only time I use my iPhone 5 one handed is when scrolling through messages, websites, etc. I can do the same on a bigger device. I may very well be wrong and Apple will do a u-u-turn on the screen size issue. Hell, I was wondering myself last night whether I should cancel my 6 Plus order and buy a new 32GB 5S instead whilst I can. We'll see.
I was gonna get myself an iPad Mini, bit after buying the iPhone 6 Plus, I definitely don't feel that I need an iPad anymore. I can quite comfortably do most of everything I need with the 6 Plus. The only thing I can see that would get me to consider an iPad Mini now is if they introduced split screen multitasking.
