Yeh, I've seen the pictures around and they say 'enhanced for large printing' or something along those lines. What can they do to make the image more suited to large printing?
Most photo processing software can 'improve' a photo to some degree. Processing/Improving a jpg is obviously limited but there's always more advanced noise reduction and sharpening I guess :/
The iPhone 6 has an 8MP camera which provides a decent enough resolution to enlarge to billboard size, especially when you consider the DPI of a billboard print combined with the viewing distance.
They might do some processing like using genuine fractals to enlarge it a bit further but it isn't really that impressive. If they were billboard sized and 300pdi, then I'd be impressed.
