So the wife had her faulty iphone 6s booked in for a battery change. When she got there she was told to come back in 2 hours!

Is this normal or did they double book. I know its not a quick battery change but really 2 hours?

Yeah where I work it's around 2-4 hours normally. It's about 20 minutes to do it properly and then test. All the screws and adhesive are replaced, the display re-sealed onto the chassis then the device powered on and tests ran.

Reason it takes 2 hour or more is if the repair queue backs up a bit because more are being brought in for repair than are being repaired on an hourly basis. The repairers still have to repair other customers devices as well as the battery ones.

Battery needs to be charged as well as they ship empty
