Hi

My Sansung S3 is playing up and I would like to replace with an iPhone.
Im really undecided on weather to get a 64gb 6S or 64gb SE.

Obviously the price is a lot different but it seems the wait for the SE is 2-3 weeks and I need the phone before that really.

The one thing that is worrying me is the battery life of the 6s, Is there much difference between the two.

thanks

iPhone SE if you want to be able to use your phone in one hand conveniently, I just got one a couple of days ago and that really is the main reason to get one over a 6S that and the price differential :) got a 64GB SE for £380 so can't complain.

I've seen it, not compared side by side though.

Ive got a Samsung S3 currently and the measurements are almost identical to the 6s. I personally think I would prefer the bigger screen as I will use it for photo snaps as well.

I was just a bit unsure how the battery life is on both. I suppose it cant be any worse than my S3 which drains like anything now.

Battery life will be better on the SE than 6S if that's also a concern, by 2-3 hours. but like you said you'd rather have more screen real estate, so the 6S wins Surely.

I've looked over the extra features and cant see anything I will be to bothered about or miss, so Ive ordered the SE 64gb.

If I don't get on with it I can pass it on to my dad who is used to smaller phones.

Im hoping the build quality is ok, seen a lot mention rattles and clicky sounds.

Why are these things so ridiculously hard to get hold of? My GF wants one and the stock availability makes you think it's some sort of super wonder device or something. Are Apple that incapable of managing basic demand and supply?

You should be able to walk into an Apple store and buy the current budget device this long after it came out.

The recent earthquakes in Japan has affected a Sony plant that manufactures one of the camera components, so if current stock is non-existent, it will only continue.

I always felt Apple thought it was in their interest for initial supply to be drip fed. It leads to queues outside their shop and makes the products appear to be more in demand than they actually are.

Contrast it with reports that other more established models are apparently having their production cut owing to lack of demand, making it likely that Apple are more than capable of keeping up with demand if they chose to do so.

Nobody queuing outside the Apple shop on Saturday. Just irritated people leaving without spending any money.

Generating hype for the latest flagship makes sense but with a device like this I can't imagine they don't want to sell as many as they can as soon as they can.

If the stock problems continue for much longer she'll just buy something else - it isn't special or halo enough to be worth waiting months. I imagine many others are in the same position?

I was se and 6s only from my 5s. Jumped ship to a 6s plus 128gb and loving it now, took 3 weeks to adapt. It's a 2 handed device texting with 2 thumbs but when you adapt to that its quite enjoyable and the screen is lovely. Just my thoughts on the situation, I didn't like it at all when I got it, thought was too big but enjoying it now!

Well we went and got the missus' one on launch day, when you could take your pick.

The problems arose when the screen failed on it and they didn't have any replacements.

Is it sorted now? Most stores have stock reserved (now anyway) for replacements through the bar

This is honestly getting ridiculous now - a month on from release and you still can't walk into an Apple store and buy one.

It's luck, but I managed to buy and collect yesterday for a space grey 64gb at my nearest Apple Store.
Keep checking Apple Store collect availability in the mornings, a lot came into stock yesterday around London.

Well they did but they at first tried to tell us there were no replacements in stock. I had to hang around a bit and be firm with them, and then all of a sudden a replacement appeared.

It was all a bit odd.

That really is odd, I wonder why they'd want to hold stock back if that was the case

[TW]Fox / anyone else - edit. link removed. theres probably something on here that ocuk sells or links within that site

All models available next day apart from 64gb Black (which I wanted) I decided to downgrade in size and capacity from an iPhone 6 64gb to an iPhone SE 16gb. I hardly use any of my apps, need to backup photos and don't listen to half my music anyway.

16gb should be enough for what I need (a handful of apps, a few albums and private & public cloud everything else)
