So the announcement was just made....

and I am totally uninterested in this... even though the note 7 had a recall, I'm still going for this.

I've never owned an iPhone I don't plan to any time soon (I am the proud owner of a Macbook and former owner of an iPad mini so I'm by no means a hater) but I have to say even though I heard rumours that the 3.5mm jack would be dumped I never actually thought they'd do it but fair play that they did.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've used mine on any device in the last 5 years or so, especially since they've incorporated stereo speakers at its expense so it's not a total waste. I've been mostly Samsung for the last few years and wouldn't be upset if they copied this at some stage.

There's a lightning to 3.5mm jack adapter included in the box. So it's a non issue for people who still want to use their current non lightning/wireless headphones.

Edit. Not really interested in it. The pricing looks crazy. I'm on an SE at the moment. Will jump back to android next though.
