iPhone 8gb Unlocked, Help......

Hi,

Just got an iPhone 8gb today upgraded to 1.1.4 like it said in the sticky and used Ziphone to unlock and jailbreak etc all is good, put my orange sim card and im happy

Just one question my contract is on orange how do i go about setting edge up on this thing? And can i just ring orange and get them to put an unlimited data bolt on for my contract??

Anyone had experience with orange

Can I ask is your orange sim a 3g sim?
I have a orange sim but it doesn't seem to work with my iphone :S

I have a 16gig iphone, bought today, updated to 1.1.4 then used Ziphone. When I put my in my orange sim it just says 'no service' :S

Not sure if it's 3G, i suppose it is as on my old phone you can get 3G service so i think it might be.

I have done exactly what you have done regarding updating to 1.1.4 and using Ziphone to unlock & jailbreak etc...

I get service but just wondering how to go about the internet usage

I hope you find out how to use EDGE on the iphone, google hasn't brought up any settings?

O2 are the only UK network using EDGE I think... therefore you won't be able to use it on Orange.

I used these settings, they worked, but £1 per 1MB isn't good.

Orange GPRS settings (WAP):

Homepage: http://orange.multimedia/
APN add. (Contract): orangewap
APN add. (PAYG): paygwap

Gateway (IP) address : 192.168.71.35
Username: Orange
Password: Multimedia
Session type: Continuous / permanent
Authentication: Normal
Port number: 9201

You really need a data package on your plan, if you have this then you are set, I haven't and I soon racked up 5MB checking my mail every 5 minutes

No, Orange do have a limited service. It's not as extensive as 02's though.

You will definitely need a data plan otherwise you will rack up horrendous costs. Believe me I have done it.
