iPhone advice for my daughter

hi. We are thinking of getting a second hand iPhone 5 for our daughter (nearly 11).

This phone is presently on O2.

I have a iPhone 6s as well ( with EE)

I’m thinking of perhaps a sim only contract ? Any recommendations?

She won’t be taking it to school etc. Just want her to get used to having a phone before she attends secondary school.

I’d also like some way of limiting the phone. So it is ‘safe’ for her.

I realise most sim only contracts will have a data cap which is good but the majority of the time it would be connected whilst at home via our home WiFi.

Just wondered if there were other parents perhaps on here with useful information for this type of scenario

The iOS restrictions can be a very useful feature https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201304 for controlling what the phone can do. Also the Find my Friends feature can be useful for parents, lets you see on a map where the person is.

Data use, camera etc. can all be controlled/disabled.
