Just came across this app and like it a lot.

Tapatalk is a forum app for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Nokia. The app provides super fast forum access to any vBulletin, IPBoard, phpBB and SMF forums that have activated Tapatalk. Forum owner can download the free plug-in to activate Tapatalk in your forum.

Where and who do I suggest adding the tapatalk plugin to the OcUK forums.

Whats wrong with accessing OcUK using Safari on the iPhone?

Unfortunately this cannot be added to the forums due to it being a mod to the vBulletin software.

Its totally usable with Safari just a lot of scrolling and zooming not to mention loading of pages, when using the app for other forums its so much quicker as it doesnt have to load the pages, just the posts, I also dont have to scroll about and zoom in or out.

I've used Tapatalk for a few forums now and it's far better than Safari.

Just like Facebook and Twitter, both can be done in Safari but the App makes it a much nicer experience.

I have no idea how hard it is to install on VBB. It's a breeze for phpBB though.

Seems simple enough to install, maybe the site admins can have a looky, as im sure many of us have iPhones.

Like Spike said it makes it such a nicer friendlier experience.

vBulletin - Installation
•Place the zip package at the root of your forum system.
•Unzip the package. You should see a directory called "mobiquo" inside your forum system root directory. For example, if your forum URL is http://www.mysite.com/forum, it should be placed at http://www.mysite.com/forum/mobiquo/.
•Login to Administration Control Panel
•Choose "Style Manager" under "Styles and Templates"
•Choose "Edit Template" in your current template
•Click "Edit" in your current template
•Choose "footer" in the list, click "Edit"
•At the bottom of the editor, insert the following line:

<script type="text/javascript" src="mobiquo/tapatalkdetect.js"></script>•Click "Save".
•Continue to next step

Justin has already said this won't be added. It doesn't matter how easy it is, we don't add mods to vB.

It's rubbish anyhow. I used it for AVForums, but soon reverted back to Safari.

I like Tapatalk. It definitely loads faster if you can't get 3G or wifi. The only disadvantage to Safari is that you can't open more than one thread at a time.

its available for android too but i've been wary about installing it, if you subscribe to a thread and get an email what does it open tapatalk or the browser?

A good way of browsing forums on the iphone is to look into the app called "forums" It has a pacman style icon and a lite version is available.

It works just like tapatalk but doesn't seem to need the forums to add plugins.

I'm not sure I'd be happy putting my username and password for any forums I visit into a third party app.

Installation is easy. It does not change any of your forum settings or overwrite any of your existing forum code and configuration.
