iPhone as modem?

Hey guys,

I've tried to set up my iphone as a modem for my mbp using various methods online, but I've been unsuccessful in getting any to work. Has anyone managed to do this, and if so could you share your method please?

Jailbroken or legit?

If its legit I think its against the T&Cs.

T&C of what? The network or the forum?

Can't be the forum if the network allows it, i do that with my N95 all the time.

Think he means the EULA for the iPhone. I wasn't aware it was even possible to use the iPhone as a modem?

It's against the networks T&C in most cases but I doubt they would be able to tell, the reason is because they want you to buy their USB modem and pay for a contract. In the case of T-mobile they have higher priced plans if you want to use it to browse from your computer, again I doubt there is any way they can tell. As long as your sticking to the fair-use policy then I don't see why it is any differeny from browsing on the phone. I think you can hook up the iPhone via bluetooth to you computer, not sure if it needs to be jailbroken though.

I'm jailbroken on O2 with the web bolt on. Any guides anywhere that people know have worked?

You can proxy your web connection out via it.
You have to set up a Wireless Ad-hoc network and install tiny proxy on the Phone.

Its against network T&C normally because they say phone is not to be used as a modem balhhhhh.
