iPhone Bluetooth - rubbish, or just me?

My old N73 finds both mine and my mum's iPhone, but neither of the iPhones find each other or the N73. They just constantly stay on 'Searching..' and never find anything.

I'm guessing there's obviously something wrong?

Do iphones even connect to other phones in i never tried myself? i know you cant send files etc....

Only for headsets i believe.

Funny you should say that I was scanning the other day and it seemed to be searching for a long time without finding anything when I knew there were phones kicking about.

Its capable of doing it but blocked by apple, its so you cant share music i suppose, there are a few people trying to hack the bluetooth to allow everything on hackint0sh forums.

Basically the music companys told apple to leave out bluetooth for sending files if they didnt want to risk support for itunes. Or so I was told.

Nope. The real reason is that it's a 1st gen product and Apple didn't have time to implement it.

The bluetooth device in the iphone is capable of it, its locked in software so how could that be true?

Yeah, Probably. Wouldn't make a difference for me as it's jailbroken.

EDIT: Can anyone provide me with the link to the Bluetooth app? Can't seem to find one.

Even the cheapest phones have had bluetooth for years now so that can't be the reason. It's quite embarassing for Apple really.
