iPhone - Changing SMS tone?

Well I've just spent the last hour looking and finally succeeding to create a custom ringtone for my iphone. Now I'd like to know how to make a custom SMS tone?

If life is so short why are you responding to this thread with no helpful answer?

On topic though, I don't think it's possible to create custom SMS ones. Might gain the ability to do it in a future firmware update but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Seriously people, no it can't be done but it would have only taken about 10 seconds to search google or the forums for an answer to this, I personally wrote a response in another post in the last month about the same issue...

Can't you do this using garage band? I thought I read a guide somewhere, I'll have a look and see if I can find it. May have been for ringtones though.

if you're jailbroken you can replace the stock ones with your own ones.

The MGS sounds package does the codec beep for sms this way.

Scroll down to where it says 'if you also want to replace system sounds' and follow instructions. Should work ok.
