iPhone Charger Question

Not really, no. If it charges, it will charge very slowly. You may get the message on the iPad saying 'not charging' but in fact it will charge when the screen is switched off. The iPhone charger is rated at about half the power output of the iPad charger.

I use an iPhone charger to charge my iPad when I'm not in a hurry, I just leave it overnight.

Thanks for the input. Will this degrade the life of the power adaptor and battery? Sounds like it could be putting strain on the power adaptor.

I use an old charger I got with a 3G and have no issues at all charging my ipad 1, whether it's in use or not.

Are these different?
