iphone chrome surrounds

I've got a 3G and a 3Gs now and both of them to some extent seem to be very badly put together.
The chrome surround on the 3G sticks up higher than the screen on the left side, but not the right. On the 3Gs it sticks up all the way round, so 'swiping' things involves almost scraping my finger over the chrome bit which is annoying and a bit noisy if I'm honest.

Is it just the ones I have got or is anyone else finding the same?

Wasn't really a problem on the older phone as the screen stuck out higher on the right hand side but this new one is already irritating me and I'm thinking of complaining

If you're not happy with it then take it back and get it replaced, I can't say either of mine are like that.

Got it from CPW online so might be tricky taking it back but I might get on the phone to O2 and moan

Just go to an Apple store, that seems to be the best way to do it.

To be honest they all seem to be like that to some extent unless your uber lucky

Luckily my black 3GS 16GB seems to be ok - the glass maybe very fractionally raised above the chrome bezel on the left hand side but it's as good as perfect.

However, a family member bought a white 3GS 16GB and the chrome bezel was a lot higher than the glass all the way round, especially on the right hand side where you swipe to Turn Off. They took it back to the shop today who very reluctantly agreed to swap it. The replacement seems near perfect, but 3 out of the 4 units the shop had on display all had the same problem to some degree.

I think unknowndomain is probably right. It seems like poor Quality Control in the rush to get them out of the factory.

I noticed that my 3Gs is the same.

I might take it back later in its term tbh

They will replace it if your not happy and the issue is significant enough to warrant replacement.
