Hi all,

My friends iPhone 5 seemed to fail during a IOS update and now the phone appears to switch on in what I believe is recovery mode as the only option is to restore.

The phone hasnt been backed up and has many photos on there.

Is there a safe way I can either get it out of recovery mode? Or at least get the photos off.

Googling suggested this tool http://tinyumbrella.org/fix-recovery/

Has anyone used it? Is there something better?

Thanks all.

i never used but i heard people got out of recovery with success using TinyUmbrella. there is also a tool called "Recboot"

but you can try these:

1. Hold down the home and power button for about 15 seconds, this shuts off the iPhone
2. Press the power button to boot the iPhone
