Iphone, Desire HD or Galaxy

{General DHD praise}

The DHD does really feel nice and the screen is great the only real criticism I would give is to the speaker, it's a little on the quiet side, it doesn't really cause me problems but I'm often thinking it should be a little louder.

What he said. On the speaker front, when he says "little" it should be in italics to emphasise that it really only is slightly too quiet. You'll be aware of it but it'll hardly ever be an issue, unless you have loads of chums with penchant for whispering.

Orange, upgrade, free phone, £35/month, 24 months, 600 mins, unlimited texts, 750Mb internets. Not the best but it was an in-contract upgrade so I didn't have many options, and was impatient. See this as a worst case scenario, I guess :)

P.S. Was via CPW to avoid Orange's bloatware and networklock.

Well...was walking through Heathrow duty free about 1 hr ago and bought a DHD. Hope its good!

Dying to fiddle with it....but are you not meant to fully charge first to get best out of battery?

Doing this will not benefit the battery immediately as far as I know
Well it won't significantly damage the battery, but the battery voltage monitoring circuit may get a little confused if you don't let it charge fully the first time you charge it, so your battery meter on the phone may act a little crazy as it doesn't yet know what the full capacity of the battery is... There is a reason why is says to let it charge fully in the instructions... ;)
, so if he wants to fiddle with it, he can.

Just charge it when it drops to 1-5%, it should have a half charge already.
With Li-ion batteries it's best not to let them go below 40% charge if you want it to keep its capacity longer than a year or two, so I'd advise against letting the charge drop to 1-5%.

If it were my phone I'd just stick it on charge, then let the fiddling commence while it's charging! :)
