Just a quick question. We have an Android app that connects to our servers and under some events will display some simple data as an icon in the top task bar. the app runs in the background.
An example idea, but not what we do, is display the GPS speed in numbers on the task-bar icon with the app running in the background.
We would like to release the App for iOS now. Our initial investigation has showed that IOS is so restricting and has so many hurdles that it may be impossible. We have managed to hack through some things (that may get the app rejected form the Apple store) but at least they are work arounds.
The last issue we have is with the display. We just want a small icon on the task bar which we can update in realtime form an app running in the background. Is this possible?
