Im well over 250mb since launch day, really don't understand why people don't just sign up for the contract its a really good deal and jailbreaking/unlocking can cause so many problems if it goes wrong.
It doesnt make sence to me simply because your risking £269 (i.e. possibly bricking it) to 'save' money in the long run, i know its a risk but I think its a bad one because the money you think your saving will be negated automatically if its bricked, and the real saving is less because you have to have some kind of bolt on internet data plan, because the iphone is all about internet, remember the keynote where steve j. introduced the imac, i was internet etc... well internet phone, thats a very good description of what it is, a phone with internet, and if you cannot afford the internet on it or are worried about going over limits it seems pointless.
But hey, each to their own i am very happy with my non unlocked and non jailbroken phone.
I have the £7.50 bolton for my non-iphone o2 contract and its working well for me, I use it to retrieve mail, do the occasional google map etc. I've only seemed to use up 13mb in 2 weeks, how the hell are you people going through 85mb?! Unless you watch youtube etc.?

Because you'll then be stuck for a year and a half with a phone that can only do EDGE with no hope of being able to upgrade before that time?
My friend jalibroke his perfectly fine, and he's not even a techie.
It depends on how apple approach it though, say for example they release an update (hardware) at Christmas and it has 3G, they could either just let you swap edge for 3G unlimited data or they could create new taffifs based on the new phone locking people out.
Hmmmm . . . . . .
