One major barrier to entry into the business world is security. RIM has earned a solid reputation with reliable and secure data transmissions along with Microsoft. As Apple attempts to show that its platform is ready for the business world, a well known hacker is claiming that the phones encryption can be cracked in less than two minutes.

It seems though that Apple have been let of the hook by all the large major corporations and businesses in America as they don't appear to care..

Surely if the hacker has the phone they'd be able to hack a Windows Mobile device or Blackberry pretty quickly (maybe not minutes)? So why waste money trying to do the impossible?

Two minutes is pretty bad though. You could nick one hack it and put it back before someone even notices.

Haha, imagine that.. Walk into your local O2 shop - pick up one of the display iPhones they have (there are 6 on public display and fully useable with working SIM cards and credit in my local store! idiots..) - hack it - put it back - see if they notice.. :D

Compared to the devices on the market that allow bluetooth access to contacts in seconds?

Idiots or...displaying their features? How is it idiotic to have working phones on display in a phone shop.

I think this whole encryption thing refers to the ability to pull files off the devices when "locked", compared to other business level handsets. E.g. How easy is it to get at someones company email after stealing the device before it's been remote wiped. In this area the Blackberry devices are very strong, if it's locked you pretty much aren't getting anything useful off it.

Apple are pretty bad with regards to security*, so this doesn't surprise me :p

*Taking ages to patch things etc. etc.
