iPhone headphone/incoming call issue

I had my bluetooth headset adaptor plugged into my iPhone, but when someone calls me, and I answer the phone, I cannot hear their voice out of the ear piece on the phone itself. I was under the impression that the iPhone would cut all music and let you speak normall and listen via the ear piece on the phone when you receive a call?

Anyone else experience this?

Details of the unit would be useful.

I take it the 'bluetooth headset adapter' plugged into the headphone jack? Then your earpiece connects via bluetooth to the adapter, rather than directly to the iPhone?

If so, it may be that you adapter doesn't adhere to the same 3.5mm jack pin layout that Apple use for the headset

Correct AdWright.

But the adaptor does fit *just* snugly into the 3.5mm plug.

Am I right in asuming that had they been normal wired earphones, the iPhone would cut the music and let talk with the incoming caller (as well as hear them through the iPhone ear phone).

You need to remove the headset if you want to use the built-in earpiece and mic. Same goes for your dongle.
