iPhone Interference with Speakers

Why does the iPhone (2G 2.1) cause so much interference with speakers? I accept that regular GSM phones will fairly quietly just before a call or text sometimes cause a slight bit of interference but my iPhone is OTT. Its not just before a txt or call either. ts just sitting there (with email set to manual) and goes off much louder than my old phone used to. Is there anything to be done as this is incredibly annoying?

I asked this is another forum a while back but got no response. I think there is something known as ferrite rings which are meant to cut out radio interference but i'm not sure if that is a solution or not. I remember doing about it on an amateur radio course so maybe it doesn't work for all forms of electrical interference. Would be interested to hear any thoughts on that. 3G version of iphone here and noise through my speakers would drive you insane.

Happens in my car sometimes. Never happened on 2G t-mobile but does with o2 3G. Not always but can be very annoying trying to listen to something and its buzzing unless I unplug it

Happens with my sub in the living room and also with my Pure DAB in the kitchen. It's not just iPhones though, my other halfs BlackBerry does it too.
