Has anyone here got Internet Tethering for their iPhone? Am wondering what is it really like in a Edge area aswell as 3G area.

I am going up to the Lakes today and thinking of getting tethering for a month so I can access the internet on my Laptop while up there.

Cheers

I'm curious about this now. Before I was totally put off by the pricing, but now o2 home broadband is INCLUDED in the price!

Thought i'd give it a try too as with the broadband discounts it's effectively £2.50 a month. So far only tested it in central London and speeds were awful, barely better than EDGE. However might be better in the rest of the country.

You end up paying for the internet tethering and getting the broadband for free. So £2.50 more per month if you're on 8mb.

This still works on my non-jailbroken iPhone. Been using it for months.

It's not brilliantly fast, my vodafone dongle is loads faster.

Mine is a 3G 3.1.2 still locked to O2 and the tethering works fine. To be fair I did the above when it was on a far earlier OS - it hasn't broken on the way up through the upgrades though.

I haven't another phone about to see if it will still work natively on 3.1.x.
