Iphone/Ipad External Storage

Has anyone used anything like this?

Looks a great way to get more storage for iPhone for cheap. Yes its something sticking out the end of the phone but wouldn't be an issue if it was kept at work or home with a load of music on.

Another question I have is how do you access it? Is it just used as an extension of the current storage?

Any help would be appreciated

I use one of these.

Using it isn't just an extension of internal storage - there's essentially an app you use to copy things to/from the iOS device. It's handy, and not that much of an effort.

Can I still play Music/Video/etc directly from the "Key"? or do I have to copy to the phone then play?

Play movies/music direct - I don't do that though, as the bit sticking out of the bottom is a pain.
