Hi All,

I have to develop a small personal application for the iPhone, only problem is, at the moment I don't have access to anyone's iPhone... and I already have an (imo, better) phone, so I'm not going to go out and buy an iPhone specifically for this.

I've searched around but didn't really find a definite answer, can I just go out and buy an iPod Touch, get the SDK from Apple (free?), develop/test for/on the iTouch and then it would work fine on an iPhone when I get access to one again? Are there any limitations to doing this rather than buying an iPhone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

There are differences between simulator and hardware.

So don't actually release anything without testing on the real thing.

Other than Objective-C and cocoa are gorgeous to develop with once you get used to it, so good luck.

Its a shame objective c isn't used more, then that other mess of a language, C++.

Thanks for the replies, yeah I'll be testing it on the simulator while developing. Is it safe just to test it on an iPod Touch, even though it's going to be used by some people on an iPhone? If it functions correctly on the iPod Touch does it need to be also tested on an iPhone?
