Iphone Mail

Hi,

You lot must be sick of the stupid questions but....

Since I have upgraded to the 3g version it copied all my data across from my old phone including my mail account (pop3) but for some reason the account doesnt work.

When you press the mail icon on the main screen it loads up quickly is blank then jumps back to the main screen. I can check the mail settings on the phone but when i try to delete the account it tries to do it, freezes then goes back to the main screen with the account still there.

Any ideas hoiw i can fix it please.

Fixed it, so can be closed or something now

Other users on these forums are having the same problem, so a solution would be great

I did a restore, and when prompted chose New Iphone rather than use a back-up and manually added the account. Had to copy across all of my music and apps again which was a bit of a pain but I now have Push mail so it was worth the effort. I also made sure my contacts were synched too before I restored

Not really much of a fix tbh but it has done the trick.

Sorry for not replying earlier BenjiSayers, thanks for you reply however for those who do not want to restore their iPhone as a new phone (results in losing text messages) you can try the following instructions (search for the instructions posted by Matsk).

Unfortunately I still get the synchronisation error in iTunes however I can now open Mail fine on my iPhone without having to set it up as a new phone
