Just had an odd one. Whilst at work i found that i iPhone suddenly decided that it will not connect to the internet, either by Safari, weather, stocks and email etc. I restarted the phone which did not help, but found that it came back about half hour later.

Anyone else ad this? Not updated or anything recently and running the lastest firmware and not jailbroken.

Hope this does not continue as would be a pain in the .....;)

Yeah when i first noticed the problem i had the g icon, then when i was still trying after restarting it had the blue circle (whatever that means...) Not got a wifi connection at work to try, but then like i said it;s fine now...very odd

What is the g icon? 3G?

O = GPRS
E = EDGE
3G = HSDPA/3G

It may have just been a temporary outage in your area, if it persists, go to an apple store with an appointment for the ipod bar. I would suggest calling O2 first if it is always happening at the same location but no where else as perhaps the cell transmitter is experiencing issues which O2 will be able to confirm for you.

Also you could try just toggling 3G on and off in the Settings > General > Network menu.

Nice one, makes sense. I will see if it does it again and follow your suggestions. Thanks!

Yeah, i've had the same problem. I've only had it happen to me a few times. I think it's just the area your in, when i'm home i get a very bad 3G signal and most of the time it doesn't work, other areas are fine.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's probably just down to a bad connection.

A mate and I both had this on our iPhones today, think there was a problem with the network.

Works fine now though.
