iPhone notifications failing..

My iPhone doesn't appear to be sending me my notifications all of the time, for example if I have facebook minimised but still running I sometimes get a notification when someone pops up - other times this just doesn't happen?
I went on facebook on my PC earlier to see that I had 3 unanswered chat messages - all of which where sent whilst facebook was running in the background on my iPhone - why wasn't I notified?

It's most likely the app which is the cause of the problem. For me as well Facebook seems to suffer with bad notification recognition on the iPhone. Just try to keep up to data with revision releases that come out onto the app store.
