Looks like there are some very good updates in hand one of which is the copy and paste functionality, but does anyone know the release date as it's still in Beta

My guess it will be released with the heavily rumoured new iphone. I'm going to guess mid/late July.

Probably late July as suggested above. beta 5 is out at the mo and it's pretty stable. Apple have alerted all developers that any App Store submissions will be tested against OS3.0 and rejected if it's not compatible which shows it can't be tooooo far away from release.

Does anyone know what new features the new iphone will have?

Also can you get tomtom for the iphone yet?

:)

Well cut and paste is one feature that i know is definitely coming...i heard MMS as well is coming. But no word if the iphone can or will be able to multi task...which for me is a massive failure if it cant. If it does come with multi tasking capability then ill get one as a backup phone next to my 2 blackberry Bolds that im currently running:p.

Guess there is no tomtom then im looks like im sticking with WM then.

On Apples iPhone o/s presentation they demo'd a satnav for it with turn by turn audible directions so you won't need Tom Tom. :D

There is an official site with a list of all the changes/additions but can't link as on iPhone right now.

I love it when iPhone users say that.:p

So Apple are making their own Satnav then? Sounds very applesque...

Yeah lol..it is a bit annoying with no cut and paste .:D

Well it might not be their own Satnav - might've been a third-party app but showing that off like the leaf trombone app thingy lol that they showed off on the o/s presentation.

I really hope they don't design their own satnav over allowing the standard companies to add theirs.

Thinking about it - I reckon it's third party assuming with the added api's they're boasting that third parties can do a lot more.

I heard the ability to record, edit and share video is included as well.

If this is true I will likely get an iPhone.

I can't see it mentioned here..I'll post the link to the list of o/s additions-the most exhaustive link I have found:

The iPhone has HSDPA and GPS already. The cut and paste isn't a deal breaker for me. And what it does; it does very well.

^^ That

I bought an iPod Touch a few months back and it's made me want an iPhone so badly it's unreal. The touchscreen and UI are just leagues ahead of anything else I've used. My current contract has expired but i'm going to wait and see what Apple announce at WWDC in June. Hopefully iPhone v3 to go with the new OS :)
