Iphone "Other" Data

My iPhone is reporting that i am almost on max storage. Plugged the phone onto itunes and "Other" data is showing up as 5.91GB

Did some research for the last hour but nothing seems to remove this. Tried diskaid into the iphone drive but again thats only showing up as 2GB so how on earth do i remove this other data?

My fix in the end if you can call it that was to update the phone to the latest IOS which dropped it for a time and after that I just bought a bigger capacity iphone so it doesn't bother me as much. Madness that they can't clear this easily.

Simple option but time consuming.. backup your phone.. restore to a "new phone" then restore your backup

Have you got a pending update sat waiting for you to install? That takes up a chunk.

Otherwise check none of your apps are using it - sometimes that gets slapped under the "Other" heading

I had a corruption once which meant Other kept increasing in size, just restored from backup and it did the trick.

If your jailbroken you can use an app called 'iCleaner' which cleans up the other folder. That is what I use on my iPad.
