Hi all,
My brother got a new iPhone X and he had a 6s beforehand. He didn't have iCloud but to transfer his photos over he signed up to iCloud, bought the 50GB option for 79p a month and he initiated a backup. It said backup complete and so he then wiped the phone ready to sell it on.
It turns out when it says 'backup complete' it actually means everything except for photos and instead you have to monitor the photos backing up process somewhere else. He didn't know this.
What this has resulted in is him losing all of his photos. I know with HDDs you can recover data. Is it possible to recover data from iPhones? He has no backups elsewhere whatsoever (I've chastised him already for this so please no snide remarks, you're preaching to the choir).
Basically what I'm asking is, is it possible to recover data from a wiped iPhone like you can with HDDs?
I suspect it's a lost cause.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
