Im having an issue with my iphone, basically we have exchange set-up in work, and im using IMAP to send/recieve e-mails to my iphone, iv got it all working however there is one issue.

As I am on call one week out of the month, I need to recieve e-mails automatically and they need to be able to download to my iphone without any user interaction and alert me I have new mail. Now this is supposed to be achievable by using "Push" on the iphone, I have activated this, I have ensured I close my outlook client on my laptop, so effectivly e-mails should go straight to my iphone and alert me however on the iphone, the mailbox will not update unless I manually go in to it, then it will begin to update.

My "Fetch New Data" settings on the iphone are:

Push: On

Fetch: not applicable as push is "on"

Any ideas on how I can get this issue resolved?

but the emails are NOT being pushed to your phone are they?

your phone need to poll the server to check for new emails, unless you set the server up to 'push' email to the phone, (or have you already dont that)...

Switch Push off, and set Fetch to whatever time period you wish.

As edscdk has stated, your work server is not pushing the e-mails to your device.

This would be the ideal solution if you were able to manually set the "Fetch" time, the iphone only has a minimum of 15 minutes per fetch? I need it to be every minute or two as when im on call I have an SLA of 30 minutes to respond to the customer.

My collegue is using the "Push" feature, and his works fine? Im going to give him another call later to make sure I have exactly the same settings as him, but from what we have checked so far, I have. His push feature works fine.
