iPhone Question

My father is thinking about getting an iPhone - will he have to install iTunes on his computer and conect the phone up before being able to use it, or do they work "out of the box"?

iTunes needs to be on the PC to 'configure' the iphone.

Yeh I found it annoying lol.. but the iphone is the best phone i've ever had and i've had loads lol

Unfortunately it'll be the deal breaker for him (obstinate old fool that he is) which will push him towards a Desire but never mind!

he can always uninstall it again afterwards, and then use one of the alternatives. though why you'd want to i dont know. itunes is no longer the clunky horror it once was. since version 9 came out its been pretty decent. i use it as my main media player now because...well...why not?

Do you not have an apple shop near by? They will activate it for him. Not sure if the phone shop will, but i don't see why they would not
