Hey all, im looking for an option on my iphone that allows me to stop it displaying texts on the main screen when I receive them (when the phones locked basically), I swear I saw an option somewhere in it to turn that off, but cannot find it now  is this possible or did I just dream it up ? lol

There is :)

Go in settings -> general -> Passcode lock

This is the only downside, you have to passcode lock your phone so everytime you unlock it. But in there is an option to stop texts displaying on the main screen

Ahh cheers awesome, passcode lock I use anyway, as the phones so good for getting email etc there and then; its abit open to your account being used should it be nicked, so set it to lock after 15 mins :)

One more question is how do I turn off 'predictive' text ? its well annoying, most of the words I write I have to type nnnnn or something on the end to get rid of what ever it will drop in to place what it thinks is right, then delete all the nnnn's so I can get the word I want

EDIT: Another thing, can the iphone use a hidden network? it connects fine when i broadcast my SSID, but I dont wanna broadcast it ! there seems to be no option for 'this is a hidden network' or something like that

Im using my iphone on my home network with the SSID hidden with no problems what so ever, turn on wifi and the phone picks up the network and connects every time :)

Hiding the SSID is a good thing IMO

Mines a 1.1.3 legal phone, it does not connect to my hidden network, but then iv got 'ask to connect to network' on, which i want.........I wonder if yours is off and it just connects?
