iPhone Strange behaviour???

This is a strange one, and the process needs to be followed exactly:

Play a video/movie on the iphone whilst using the earphones, after a while I press the home key (note* do not pause or stop the movie) and remove the earphones, a song from my iphone then begins to play through the iphone speaker....Why?

Well, if you just hit the Home button from either music or video it'll just take you to the home screen and will not pause music/video. So that is how it is supposed to be.

I think you misunderstand me, a video/film was being played, I then use the home key and when, and only when, I remove the earphones a random music track will play - not the movie I was watching. It's no biggie, just seems rather peculiar to me.
