iPhone unlock...

I'm not overly keen on the idea of Jailbreaking though, is there a way of doing it without jailbreaking do you know, or is every method involved with the process of jailbreaking.

Guy in my local phone shop does it with no problems, but the most I've been able to get out of him is that he changes a chip somewhere and has to solder it, probably a lot to do it yourself but your local dodgy phoneshop will be able to do it for a fee.

I don't believe so...however, I wouldn't be so worried, you can easily restore to fully stock in a matter of minutes after a jailbreak/unlock, it's very easy with iTunes and your firmware of choice. Did it numerous times on my 3GS.

Carrier unlocking as always a bit of a fun one to do unofficially, always end up playing cat/mouse with baseband updates.

Just wait the 6 months, or pay up. It's normally £15 or something.

I'v decided to just go back to EE/Orange. In fairness it will only be until November then I will get a SIM only contract thing. Thanks for the suggestions though :-)
