Hi,

Just got a text from O2 saying my iPhone is now unlocked which is great as I'm on holiday and would like to use a local SIM. However... It says I need to connect my phone to iTunes and sync it, the issue is that I don't have that laptop with me.

What can be done? I don't was to loose all the data from my phone!

Thanks

Unfortunately nothing you can do until you get home. You have to put in the new SIM and connect it to iTunes to get it to work.

Short of registering it on a different PC, losing all your stuff, unlocking it, wiping it, deauthorizing it and then restoring it from your home PC, I'm out of ideas.

Very weird one this , I just switched over from O2 to Tescos , slipped in the sim waiting for it to say connect to I tunes and voila it worked without connection.

I had a text from O2 to say it was unlocked .

think tesco runs off the o2 network. Try a t-mobile or orange sim.

I do have a netbook with iTunes with me. Would it be possible to restore and sync my phone with my netbook then use iCloud to restore everything other than my music and apps using iCloud?

Ps, this is only such an issue because I'm not going to be home for another three months.
