Does anyone here use this? What is your experience with it?

I'm toying with the idea of switching back to an iPhone later in the year (once the new ones have been announced, etc) and I have been looking at the upgrade program as an effective way of getting a new iPhone every year but wondered if there were any catches etc..

I currently pay £13 a month for phone and tablet insurance which I guess I wouldn't need for the iPhone as apple care is included?

So essentially i'd be (well the business would) forking out roughly £30 extra a month depending on which model I went for.

Basically it's the same price as if you buy the phone outright with AppleCare + but spread over 20 months but you can trade in after the first year for a new model if available.

If you value AppleCare +, I do because you get free express replacement service where if your phone is damaged, they send a new one first, then you use the box to send the broken one back, using a credit card hold for the cost of the device.

I just looked at the 7+ 128GB, over 12 months that's £533.40. What happens when I upgrade? Just moves over to the new monthly cost of the new phone and the old phone gets sent back to Apple?

I got my mum on this a few mths back, pays £40ish a mth and after 11 mths she can upgrade to a new model if she chooses to or keep the phone after 20 mths of paying. Interest free as well and comes with AppleCare.

I'll probably do this for myself when the iPhone 8 is out.

Looked into this myself and I am very tempted. It is the thought of a new phone each year with minimal fuss which is drawing me.

Wish I did do it...the iPhone 8/X is looking increasingly tempting and the ease of walking in and turning your old in and getting the next model is tempting also.

I opted for the standard 20 month 0% installment option, being that it was my first iPhone and didnt know If I'd be sticking around.

Will probably pay off this current one closer to the time, sell and do the upgrade programme for the 8/X depending on the price of course, think it'll be more £'s per month in comparison to the current 7 monthly cost on the IUP.

I upgrade each year, but not on the Apple program. I'm on O2 refresh, so I can pay off the device plan at any time. What I've found each year is the phone recycle prices are more than enough to cover the remaining balance on the device plan come September.
