iPhone V1 Sfotware upgrade ?

With all the excitement about the iPhone V2 coming out shortly i was just wondering if anyone knows about the next software upgrade from 1.1.4

I know there was a SDK released a while and unless I misunderstood it there was a v2.0 software included in that. A few weeks on and still no sign of any updates yet.
I'm looking forward to better SMS software :) it sucks not being able to forward texts at the moment.
 
You can forward text, just jailbreak your phone.

I expect the new firmware will come out the same time as the phone is released.

End of June for v2.0 firmware for iPhone. Will get the functionallity of the firmware, just obviously no 3G or GPS connections available as not found on iPhone. As such you would get ActiveSynch, MobileMe etc but over Wifi/Edge not over a 3G connection.

This will be free to iPhone users, will be chargeable to iPod Touch.
 
The 2.0 betas are done, nobody has the 2.0 final yet :)

I don't think it will take long for pwnage to do it on the v1 hardware, v2 hardware depends on what's changed in the bootloader/baseband.
 
I hope there's landscape texting, or someone makes that facility available - I can't stand the portrait keyboard, it's nowhere near as comfortable as the landscape one.

I must be missing something then, I've Jailbroken mine a couple of times using a couple of different bits of software and the facility to forward texts don't work :(

I know there are various programmes like iSMS but they don't work on 1.1.4

iSMS and SMSd both work on 1.1.4.. you must have tried an old version.

Thanks, I tried iSMS 2.0beta and had no joy with it. Maybe I'll just hold thight till the end of the month, surley Apple will have addressed this problem this time around :confused:

The version 2 beta and official release could be quite different so I would expect a stable ZiPhone release within a couple of weeks.
 
Pwnage do things differently to ZiPhone, unless they somehow upgrade everyone's boot loader when it goes to 2.0 (which I doubt) it shouldn't take long at all to unlock.. jailbreaking might take a bit longer though, but I don't expect it to take long.
 
According to Zibri, 2.0 software comes with a new version of iTunes. This is what will cause the delay in making new software - the software delivery mechanism is likely to be tweaked a bit.
