I have a VM email address which I am accessing from my iPhone and whenever I send an email from my btyahoo account on my pc to my VM account (checked on my iPhone) the format of the email is just normal text and there is always an attachment winmail.dat which I have been informed contains the formating info for the email.

Question is why cant VM emails be read correctly on iPhone/i-devices? Has anyone had experience of this? Cheers.

NS - Heres what I did, I have now setup both my VM and BTYahoo account on my iPhone so I receive emails for both accounts.

Firstly I sent an email to both accounts via my wifes BTYahoo account (webclient). Both emails display fine on the iPhone with no winmail.dat file.
Then I tried repeating the exercise but instead from my PC (once from BTYahoo account and another time from my VM account).
For both sends, the email received via VM account showed the winmail.dat file but not for the BTYahoo source emails.

So it seems to be related to MS Outlook (the client I am using from my PC) and VM. But I still cannot find the culprit factor here.

Dimple - Which email provider does your mate use?

Ok really bizzare. But I think I cracked it.
I just simply deleted historical email contact for my VM address and started again.
Everything works fine o_O.

Spent the best part of 4 hours trying to figure this out.... damn you Microsoft.
