iPhone - Visual Voicemail

I've got a problem with my iPhone's visual voicemail, ever since i jailbroke the iPhone it stopped working as far as i'm aware that is to be expected. But i had a problem with an update to 1.1.3, then i just used iTunes to restore the iPhone back to original firmware/non jailbroken. Ever since i've done this visual voicemail doesn't work i get the message on screen "Voicemail Unavailable - Unable to initiate connection", i've tried to set it up again using the dial 1750 procedure as o2 customer services told me to do still to no avail.

Does anyone know how to get this working again please, if they've had the same problems i guess they'll be the first to let me know.

Did you do a recovery-restore or did you just click restore in iTunes?

Put the iPhone in recovery mode and try it again. Just make sure you backup your contacts in iTunes.

all my jailbreak voicemail problems were fixed by dialing 1760 to disable voicemail and then dialing 1750 to re-enable. I'm on the o2 tariffs too.
edit: this works with the jailbreak too if you are looking to go back to it.

Might be worth ringing 02 again and explaining the situation.

If you can convince them that it's faulty they'll replace it?

Yes i think it's best i get in touch with them again, hopefully they'll agree it could be faulty and replacement would be nice.

Well still no luck, o2 iPhone support were helpful but they couldn't resolve the problem. They've suggested removing the sim card for a few minutes, to dialing the 1760 -> 1750 to disable/re-enable the answer machine. All to no avail. They then passed me onto o2 customer support and they have been useless, they've fobbed me off. Apparently the phone could've been return for replacement, but oh no they don't want to do that they want to carry on doing tests (am i a guinea pig - Not!)
I'll get back onto them again Monday.

Ring them up and mention the trade descriptions act.

If they tell you to sort it with Apple just put them straight; it's a carrier issue, you wan't a refund.

...they'll soon offer a replacement.
