Hi, had a blackberry 8900 for the last 22 months or so with Orange. I could upgrade as of July. But been waiting for the 9900. It is finally out on Orange now.

I have 6 email addresses which my blackberry handles perfectly fine. Which I still need to use.

I have no knowledge with the iPhones apart from a quick play with some people's at work.

Most of the email accounts I have are live/google/hotmail and pop3.

How well does the iPhone handle these?

Do they come through exactly the same as on my Blackberry?

I do not want this to turn into a blackberry is better than iPhone thread etc. Just simple answers please :)

Just need to understand about emails on the iPhone before I seriously consider the iPhone.

As my only knowledge of the iPhone is 'you can have lots of apps for this and that'

Thank you

You can setup hotmail and gmail as Exchange accounts and then have them push to the fine absolutely fine (Think you only need to do this for Hotmail to be honest)

I have a hotmail, Gmail, iCloud (me.com) and Exchange account setup and have no issues what so ever, can't imagine a couple more accounts will hurt.

If i'm sat in front of my PC at work or home I get the new email pop up from MSN pretty much the same time as my phone buzzes for it.

Been a long while since I used a blackberry for email so can't comment on how good/bad it compares to it now but for what I use it for its perfect.

If you have an Apple store nearby (or probably just a phone shop) pop in and play with a demo unit and hopefully they will have a dummy account setup for you to try

i have both....

BB for work emails, calls etc etc (and BBM)

iphone for home phone, apps, home email....

i do little home emailing but i prefer to type out emails on my BB keyboard than i do type long emails / texts on the iphone.

admittedly the iphone handles my two email accounts well. seems to sync fine and i understand (other work colleagues use iphone for work) that it works well with their accounts / contacts etc etc.

personally i am very happy to have both.... if i had to choose only one i would probably go iphone...

I prefer the blackberry. Handles all my emails without any problems what so ever.

When I first had an iPhone and Desire it just didn't work as well as I needed.

I'm sure you can have multiple inboxes quite easy on the iPhone...

I have emails going to my phone via IMAP while in work on the wireless...You can then have your Gmail on it or whatever.

Also, as far as I can tell, with the new ios you should be able to manage the folders etc a hell of a lot more easier

Emailing on the iPhone isn't bad by any means, but the interface isn't as quick as the blackberry and I always prefer typing on a physical keyboard (despite this all my phones are touchscreen!).
So to be honest, if email is your major consideration then go for the blackberry.
