Iphone vs Itouch

Basically i need a new ipod but could also do with a new phone

I was told though you can only put music you have purchased onto the iphone

I would use it to connect to car stereo, listen whilst working, at the gym, etc

Does the Iphone do everything the Itouch can plus the added functionality of phone, camera, etc?

Or does the Itouch play all music not just stuff you have bought and can do evrything apart from phone/camera?

I do not need a new phone i have a fairly new one that is fancy, but if it kills 2 birds with 1 stone then why not

or another questin which is the best ipod to get and why?

i have over 60Gb of music but i dont listen to like 50Gb of it so i dont need a huge one

You can put any music you own onto your iPhone minus WMA's obviously

Yep pretty much plus it has extra software that the iPhone will always get for free

The iPod Touch and iPhone are both just iPods will play anything iTunes can play (MP3, AAC, Apple Lossless, WAV etc)

A 16GB iPhone/iPod Touch might be up your ally, but the iPhone has the added burden of a 18 month contract

Or you can buy a 2G iPhone unlocked off a forum or ebay and use whatever contract you like.

Oh and I use mine as an iPod and it plays ripped CDs and purchased etc.

Personally I'd find it too big to use in the gym, I've got a Shuffle for that.

Apart from that the iPhone and the iTouch are just like any other iPod in terms of what music and video you can put on them.

I have my own personal gym inside my home - it would be hooked up to the speaker system through amp - same way as being connected to the car - so i dont care about size

so can I use any music ive downloaded then from torrents?

I was under the impression you could only use music you have bought from Apple Store

If its contract only - or can only get hold of them on ebay i may just buy a touch, for warranty reasons, etc

I dont really wanna be held down to a contract and without that - if the phone breaks after a month im done for

The PAYG version is out around Xmas AFAIK, you can unlock the older first gen models to any network (except 3) / tariff

bet you their will be a huge mark up and price drop in jan/feb

i can wait and just use a USB pen for music in the car and my phone for music at gym/work
