Sometimes I get directed to the mobile version of websites, is there any way to stop this? I want to get to the full sites all the time if possible, thanks

Most websites provide a link to the full website.

If you are sure you want the full site all the time then you will need a 3rd party browser, there are a couple in the app store. Mercury and Atomic browsers seem to be popular.

The only other option is Jailbreaking I guess, even then I'm not sure if it's possible with Safari.

You can also do this when jail broken too, there is an app for it but name escapes me. You basically choose what browser you want to appear as (IE, Firefox, desktop safari etc)

Found it, it's call 'User Agent Faker'

I've installed it and tested on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1 (Jailbroken obviously)

Simple to go Settings and turn it on and select your User Agent.

Then go to Applications and select which System or User application you want to be affected.

There is also a SBSettings toggle included.

Ok so iv just tried that, but it's still taking me to the mobile sites occasionally
Some sites look at more than the useragent string to decide what version of the site to display, so useragent spoofing is by no means a 100% fix.

When I get directed to the BBC mobile site as part of a refresh of the page, I go back to the bookmark for the full site. Only way I've been able to find, to get around this.

Using User Agent Faker the BBC site loads the desktop site fine.
