iphone wierdness wtf is it?

got sent this by a friend who has had this pop up on their iphone, it doesnt seem to do anything and cant be clicked on, any thoughts as to wtf it is?

Does your friend use biteSMS? It's the emoticon you can use in text messages as you can see here:

Not really sure how/why it would appear like that though!
