Anyone here using Winterboard?

I was under the impression that I could just download themes from Cydia and they would then appear as option in Winterboard, but this isn't happening.

Any idea where my themes are downloading to and how I can apply them?

BTW I recently did a test by removing Winterboard, and my battery life went from ~2 days back to 5 or so as it was before...

I installed that on my jailbroken plod touch a few months ago and couldn't even make head or tails of the app. I just got a screen with various cryptic options in which I could drag up and down. Thought it was a total pos compared to Summerboard.

The functionality i can use is ok and it's pretty simple, I just want to be able to change the themes.

If folks aren't using Winterboard then what are they using?
