iPhone Wireless Network Issues!

Hello,

Small problem with the iPhone and wireless network where I have just moved to. I am at my wits end with ideas of what is causing this:

Basically, the landlord had a really bad Netgear G router which didn't cover the whole house, so we've set up a Belkin N router to replace it. The coverage is great, but now for some reason the two iPhones in the house can not find the SSID and yet every computer/macbook/blackberry can.

Any ideas?

Make sure the router is not in N only mode (5ghz or 2.4ghz).

It needs to be in 802.11n 2.4ghz mode with b/g compatible.

Had the same problem here.

These are the settings currently:

Wireless Channel - 11
Extension Channel - 7
SSID - Broadland House
Wireless Mode - 802.11b&802.11g&802.11n
Bandwidth - 20/40MHz
Broadcast SSID - Ticked
Protected Mode - Off
802.11e - On

Does it let you set the bandwidth to just 20? Give that a try if it does.

Also could try just setting 802.11g mode and see if that works.

I know you've sorted the problem, but you might want to change from the default channel (11) to avoid interference from neighbours etc.

Fixed the problem. Seems the iPhone doesn't like SSID's with spaces in!

My SSID at home has 3 spaces in it, and works fine. There's also 3 iPhones working at my partner's parent's house with a space in the SSID.

Must have been another setting which caused the iPhone to not pick up the network.
