Does anyone know if the Griffin iTrip Auto (The one that plugs into a car accessory socket and has a dock connector) will work with the iPhone? I'm thinking of getting one but I was wondering if anyone has used them together successfully? I know that the iPhone is fussy with some things like the universal dock but it will still work even though it pops up a message.

Thanks

It will work, it's just that with aeroplane mode off, you'll hear all the network bippadabip bippadabip bippadabip bippadabip stuff through your speakers unless it's designed to isolate it. There's at least one properly iPhone compatible one available though.

The one I have is about 2 years old. My model at least does not work with the iphone. I get the usual error message about the device not being deisgned for the iphone, then nothing. The newer models might be okay though.

Well I ended up buying the iTrip Auto Universal because they didn't have the one with the iPod dock connector in stock. I think it was a better decision because it has a 3.5mm jack so it is guaranteed to work with the new iPhone as well as any other device. It also has a USB port so you can plug in the charging cable anyway. It seems to work very well, the audio isn't perfect but it is more than acceptable, having the volume on the iPod at about half and then boosting it with the radio works best.

I have the iTrip with the Lcd Display/dock connector and it works fine on my iPhone.

As mentioned, I sometimes get the network interruption though.
