iPhone with MMS

Some of my friends have been sending me MMS and I even sent myself one off my partner phone as a test. None of these as come through. I though they would come as a standard SMS with a link to view the picture using the net. Am I right here as i dont seem to be getting this. Or have to install something?
 
What thou was is a few years back when MMS started coming out and people with old phones that does not support MMS use to get SMS message telling them a picture been sent to them and for them to view it at a web address. I though this would happen with the iphone?
 
Nope, it just doesn't come through at all. I've had the same thing happen to me, the missus has sent me a MMS and nothing has come through, not a link or anything.
 
Ah well just strange that.... As i still got a old phone here that does not support MMS and it gets sms to tell me to go to a web address to look at it.

I hope something comes out soon for it :)
 
Well I've been receiving MMS fine since I've had my iPhone, recieved about 30+ since having it

I just get a message telling me to go to an address (which is linked in the message so its just a case of pressing the link and it opens the picture in a Safari window) and its there ready to view in about a second of recieving it

This is why at the moment I dont have a big problem with no true MMS, as it's almost as quick to view from the linked text message

EDIT - No idea whats up with yours Justin as I've just asked the two other people I know with iPhones and there MMS text receiving is fine also

I think that's where the problem is then, both mine and Rookies phones are unlocked and jailbroken so I think it stops it for some reason.

Thought as it wasnt mentioned in the OP it was a legit phone

Will ask the guy on my msn (Jailbroken phone) if he's had any luck
 
Ah sounds like it Jailbroken phone that are buggered for the MMS receiving but when the new 1.1.3 how would us jailbroken user upgrade to it? as i think we wont be able to for a little while am i right
 
Not straight away, but people are already working on Jailbreaks for the 1.1.3 firmware, as some people have already got hold of it.
 
Still cant recieve MMS as a SMS telling me to go to a website to view the MMS. What gone wrong. Is it cos I have jailbroken my phone or is there somthing missing as i believe someone above cant get MMS as SMS to go to a web address and he jailbroken. i have done a full reset nothing helps

The iPhone doesn't support MMS. End.

If you're sent a MMS you get a regular SMS with a link.. click the link and you'll be taken to the picture/message online via Safari.
 
But for some reason we don't get a link at all, not even a message, just nothing.

Think it's an issue with Jailbroken phones.

As what justin is saying I did say in my post that I am not getting MMS messages as SMS telling me to go to a link to look at the messgae
