Iphone x broken camera glass

dropped my phone today and somehow (thankfully) the only bit of damage is the glass coverung the camera broke.

Ive order a replacment “oem” glass and some contact adhesive to try and fix it myself as apple want to charge £500+

But wondering if anyone has done or tried this before?

The 'OEM' glass will not be an apple part, if that's important to you or not I don't know. I'd imagine Apple would replace the entire back of the phone.

£500 just to replace the camera or camera glass

And there me think about £300 to replace the OLED Screen on my note 8 was expensive..

Apple will just replace the entire glass back and everything attached.

Wonder how many people no realise it costs about £500 to replace the rear cover if they break it or crack it....

Most people normally only worry about the cost of replacing the screen and no think of the rear cover costing a fortune to replace..

Apple don’t repair any enclosure damage - they swap the device hence the high fee

It’s all labour and recertification costs, the entire phone would need to be diaassembled to replace it so as other have said they just swap it for a refurb unit.

Had it fixed today at ifixit for £54
